Valley

The valley, if to be included in the proposed attic, is not a construction area to be tampered with if at all possible. Access within the attic will therefore have to take full account of this feature, and this will have an effect on the planning of landing and corridor areas between attic rooms. It is, therefore, advisable if possible to design the valley into the landing area keeping it out of the habitable rooms where better headroom is desirable (see Fig. 9.19).
