Start Each Course From the Corners and the Buck Frames

You will find it easier to achieve running bond if you begin each course at the corners and work toward the center of the wall. This can lower the number of custom bales needed, since you'll use only one near the middle of each course, rather than one at each end. Too many half-bales above one another can form a fault line in your wall by creating a poor running bond. Stagger bales at the corners so a strong overlap is created. Once a pattern is established, running bond will be simpler to maintain.
